I was in the market for a laptop recently and I was considering one of these Copilot laptops, but I'm glad I went with an Intel chip while they work out the issues with these. It is impressive how well they are working with emulation of older apps and as developers optimize for ARM I'm hoping that these become the norm in the future. Having a powerful computer with incredible battery life is the dream.

Good review, Shane. I ordered my Surface Laptop 15 inch this morning and should have it tomorrow. I'm guessing after some firmware along with app updates, the computer should perform even better. Do a follow up video down the road. Thanks.

Shane, I completely agree with you about the screen aspect ratio; 16:9 should die a quick death! I'm curious what version of the Snapdragon is in your laptop? I really like the idea of this, and the Surface version is by far one of the best ones, but I think Qualcomm made a big error charging so much for these. AMD Hawk Point laptops are already coming down in price to around $800 for slightly better performance, and Strix Point will be launching in a couple of weeks with a 77% performance improvement as well as better efficiencies, where leaks are already showing comparable quality and better specced Strix Point laptops will be launching at cheaper prices... It just doesn't make sense for many of these (like the ASUS model) to be more than $800 - $900. Most of the OEM manufacturers are doing an awful job of supporting these ARM chips so far, but Microsoft should be better in that regard, considering how much money they have invested into Qualcomm R&D. It would also be nice if these could run Linux too. And why aren't there any Chromebook models with X Elite chips being announced; to me, that's where these chips make a lot of sense!

You do a good job reducing negativity and improving culture of tech reviews - it is easy to write and speak about a device as a disappointment but putting things into the context and explain what could be the motivations of the manufacturer for doing things how they are doing them is something I miss...

Give me a Fold Ultra. I don't care about weight. My dream phone would be the S24 Ultra folding open. I would happily pay $2k+ for that.

It is interesting, but an issue I see with the virtualisation route is this would likely mean most of your account sign-ins would not be carried into the VM. That friction of having to re-sign in to everything twice on the same device would make this feature annoying.

The only real freedom you have is to buy what you like. Wasting energy for stuff i dont like is not on my agenda. Thanks for your content💪

If Pixel fold 2 beats Fold6 significantly in cameras, i am jumping ship from the fold5 to pixel fold.

I got the chance to hold the Fold 6 in hand a few days ago when my Samsung rep came to visit my store. The phone feels a little lighter than previous gen’s, there will be a new watch ultra which I didn’t get the chance to see, the new buds look like AirPods, didn’t get a chance to see the new flip. Overall decent but I’m not too excited, not really a fold/flip type of guy.

Literally just had the courier collect my Pixel fold to take to the service centre for repair/replacement. Looooooong conversation with Google support over the issue, vidoes of me packaging the device, making it more secure than the Fabergé egg in preparation for transportation ....all fingers crossed for a smooth transaction. Thanks Shane for the story and for having given ne the impetus to commence this return/repair process.....fingers crossed for a positive outcome...tick tock waiting game now Great videos, keep up the awesome work

for me the outer screen is not big enough(i have the magic v2) and the battery at 4400mah is silly when the v2 is slicker and has a 5000 mah battery and ofc is still too "fat" for a foldable (the ideal is the v2 sorry)

Thanks for the video, helped me figure their weird stuff out lol. It looks like unpacking the zip file actually uses those .z fragment files, so you don't actually need to use 7zip on them. Really weird way they set that up though.

will pixel fold 2 have stylus support on outer and inner screen?

The Samsung UI is so heavily underrated. Only the seperate homescreens is a winner already. I really really really hate all the other devices where the big inside screen only acts as two outside screens. It's really ugly and lacks customise abilities. I'm baffled no other manufacturer has come op with this idea or looked at Samsung what makes their software experience so much better. If Samsung improves the width of the outer screen and maybe a bit better camera's there's no contest

Hope they pull some surprises in the event. It's not thaat bad especially since I'm coming from the Fold 4, but I hate that they could do so much better but instead they give us improvements in such a slow fashion (see Honor Magic V2 and others)

Well, Shane, it seems to me the people who complain about the crease HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN a Z FOLD BEFORE! BECAUSE IF YOU HAVE ACTUALLY USED a Z Fold device before, you'd know THE CREASE DISAPPEARS! The ONLY time it's visible for me is when I'm not using it! When the screen is off and the AOD is on, that's when I've EVEN BEGUN TO NOTICE THE CREASE!😮😅

Incredibly intriguing! I would love to be able to plug in my phone and run Chrome OS, that would be fantastic! I also love the idea of a Dex Mode, however, if Pixel could produce Chrome OS when plugged into a computer instead of a hamstrung mobile operating system, but had a full blown Chrome browser, that would be the better option. two birds, one awesome device.

To add to your whole positive mental thinking aspect, I believe that rumors are just rumors. We could actually see the S pen inside of the phone. And who knows what else!? I mean, think about it... how many crazy phone designs have you seen for the next generation iPhone or Galaxy or whatever, where it turned out to be completely different from the so-called "leaks"? How about we wait and see, most likely on the 10th of next month, for the actual truth about the design and hardware and Everything else. We're just going off of rumors. The only thing is these rumors and, speculations, and debates about the phone give UA-cam bloggers more subscribers... therefore, more money. So there's the negative spin :/

I think a good jump would be from ZF3 to ZF6. I don't feel the need to upgrade every year unless it's a bigger difference. Which may be what they're after. But then why make one every year? (Rhetorical question) I just wasn't sure about the price jump. But that's just me. They do offer a good trade in and decent customer support. But I have the one plus open. I prefer their split screen options. Love it! But yes... I miss Samsung software, customizing and wireless charging.

Heartbreaking! I've been like kind of mad at Microsoft for the last 6 months since I haven't been able to use my Surface Duo. I saw this video and despite the fact that Microsoft burned me with the Lumia 950 XL and the Surface Duo, I would still pull the trigger on Surface Duo 3... in a heartbeat! 😂😂😭

Though i see the z flip and z fold 6's are nearly here, ill probably get a z flip 3 maybe as a little treat for me around Christmas. I kinda just want one to just play around with and as just a secondary phone or something.

I am most likely going to get the Z Fold 6. I am going to be coming from a Note 20 Ultra so the upgrade should actually be worthwhile. I will say for those moving from other foldables there are reviewers that have given more hands on reviews comparing the OnePlus Open and the Z Fold 5. Obviously that isn't the Z Fold 6 but there should be some improvements (even if they are minor). I've seen mixed results on what the reviewers chose in the comparisons. What I came away with is the cameras are unanimously better on the Oneplus, the fast charging is amazing, and the software is mostly pretty good. I also got from the more in depth reviewers that there are some shortcomings in the software like some things not fitting the inner screen in an optimal way, wifi connection issues, and in some scenarios not pulling up full text when scrolling down. By comparison the Z Fold 5 supposedly had their software more optimized. The cameras were not bad but not all lenses fair well up against the OnePlus. The software overall came off as a little better on the Z Fold going by the reviews. Moving to the release of the Z Fold 6, it is obviously going to improve over the Z Fold 5. The camera hardware appears to be the same but my assumption is they are trying to go the Pixel route and make it better via processing and software (which I am fine with if the can come close to matching Google's accumen in that area). I've also seen the suggestion of possibly 2 more hours of battery life if I read correctly. The last thing is I have heard OnePlus will not be releasing a new Open to compete this year. So any advantages that OnePlus had may be reduced, or lost. The areas where OnePlus fell short of Samsung may be widened by them not releasing this year. I am sure the OnePlus Open is a great device butI am more confident that I will enjoy the Z Fold more and I actually like using the S Pen on occasion even if it won't be on the level of the S Pen that came with the later Notes and the Ultra models.

I am really looking forward to the Google event to see what new things they have in store. I am really looking forward to the second generation Pixel Fold to see if they have made the needed improvements to hang with the others.
